Organized by: robert gross
My name is Robert Gross,I am 46 yrs old with a living wife and four beautiful children. In 2007 I was diagnosed with a mitochondrial disease that is killing me from inside out.Mitochondrial is what keeps our cells alive.Since this diagnosis, I have had ailing healthissues that have required major surgeries. I have had L4-L5 fusion, torn left labrum and ortho scoping of left shoulder, muscle biopsy of right quadricep, torn right knee surgery. And the worst of it all I have spontaneous compartment syndrome. This is a very painful and life threatening issue.I have had it 3 times.I had 2 compartments fixed at University Hospital in Cleveland in both legs in 2010,then in 2013 Promedica of Toledo Dr. Assenmacher opened all 4 compartments so I didn't lose my left leg.Since then I can't do anything without severe pain and burning from lactic acidosis in all my muscles. My care was taken over after I had a pacemaker put in September 19th 2014 due to sick sinus syndrome. In September of 2015 I suffered a TIA and was hospitalized again at St. Lukes in Maumee ohio. Most recently I had the lwft arm suffer a severe compartment syndrome and 3 embolism s .It was a high risk surgery and I was under 2 hours away from losing my arm.if not worse.I went in Christmas Eve and didn't get out until January 3rd 2016.I also was diagnosed with very critical potassium levels (2.49).and have gone through many iv's of potassium trying to correct this disorder. Its not working, and it is important to heart contractions, which I already have concerns with. Now for the last 3 Wednesday's I have been getting L3 injections for the pain and burning in my legs.I go to work each and every day to help support my family. My wife is my rock but we are suffering financially bad.The cost of medical, prescriptions, supplements alone coat well over 400.00 every month.I take over 23 pills each day just to get through a day.My biggest fear is what my family will do if something happens to me. THEY WOULD BE HELPLESS.
